Bike Easy’s mission is to make bicycling easy, safe, and fun for everyone in Greater New Orleans. Founded in 2003, Bike Easy has grown from a small group of volunteers to a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to creating a healthy, prosperous, resilient, and equitable future through biking. We envision a future where people of all ages and abilities can safely bike, walk, and take transit. For 21 years, we’ve worked with community members, transportation planners, local stakeholders, and national advocates to support biking in New Orleans and promote road safety for all.
We educate the community on safe biking practices, helping people of all ages and abilities ride confidently. We also educate drivers, community leaders, and law enforcers about the benefits of cycling and their role in ensuring safe, enjoyable biking for everyone. We believe in the power of bicycling to create a healthy, equitable future, and we aim to make biking a joyful, easy choice for all. Safe streets for biking are safe for walking, and we imagine a future where everyone can safely bike, walk, and take transit.
